The opening night of the 'West Lancs Open Exhibition'
went really well. I got some great feedback and advice
from Jane Fairhurst (artist at OK & one of the panel judges
for the open) which is really important as to how/which
work I will submitt in future.
Jane's work is really unique & she is making a real big
name for herself, she's a massive inspiration that you can
if your willing to try, make something of yourself.
The exhibition itself has a very high standard of work,
higher than most, with a very wide selection of styles.
I would really recommend a visit;
Chapel Gallery
David Stanley was also complimentary about the painting
I have there, which is something that will keep me going
for some time as I'm a huge fan of his work, nobody around
is painting with such vibrancy of colour & texture as David.
His work simply leaves you speechles.
He has some paintings in this exhibition as well as his own
exhibition in September.
So plenty to check out..
Plenty of work to get on with, work to finish & work to prepare
for hanging at the next exhibition @ Drumcroon.
My internet connection has finally died completley at home
(I'm using a remote connection for this entry)
So I'm unable to check my email or post any pictures
or anymore entries here from this point onwards...

a private view
so tonight is the opening and private viewing
of the 'west lancashire open exhibition 2007'
the gallery must like my painting to have chosen
it for display at the exhibition..
..but will anybody else?
i get nervous, i have developed over-exaggerated &
animated gestures to conceal the shakes..
as usual at this point i don't know what to expect,
i don't know who else has work there or if i will
know anybody..
these are good opportunities to 'network' and grab
deals/commissions and solo shows.. i'm told..
or, you can just stand around, drinking a glass of
free wine and watch everybody else..
an update will surely follow..
maybe even some pictures..

spent all my time, learnt a killer's art.
the chapel gallery have been in touch..
they have chosen some of my work to exhibit;
you cannot describe these days (excuse the pun)

but i can feel a certain justification for spending
as one of my friends once said..
"..someone who spends all his nights in a shed"
yeah, i spend all my time in my studio, nailing
my paintings together with rust & gold..
(usually in those small hours of the night)
and in those daylight hours, i wonder..??
and this is the place to detail that very process.
the next exhibition i will be involved in;
the chapel gallery
lancashire.
july 13th - september 1st.

it rained mackerel, it rained trout..
i made the journey to the chapel gallery
and delivered some new work.
trip down there was hellish...
and the weather was biblical,
it hasn't stopped raining for nearly two
weeks, my next project is an ark.
the rest of the week will be spent waiting
for a decision from the 'art critics'
who is in...
and who is out..
?
